They’re not comparing it to the Corvette. They called it a ‘Halo’ car which is a premium model offered a car company. Chevy has the Vette and Ford offered the TBird-completely different types of cars. Like the original TBird, it was never intended to be a sports car like the ‘Vette. It’s a cruiser and not a spots car.
I love my white 2002 TBird and it still gets many positive comments even here in L.A.. It is NOT a sports car (like the 55-57 it was never intended to be) but it is pretty fast w/it’s 3.9 liter V8. The problem for Ford was that it cost 15k more than a Mustang GT convertible even though the TBird is a Lincoln under the great looking body.

Edmonds Has never driven 1 at 135 mph clean across Arizona on I40. It was a smooth ride. Love it!

i own an 88 thunderbird tc its the most fun i have ever had driving and of course its a stick, with a short throw
